About Us
History
Spatial Flow was founded in 2014 by two videogame industry veterans, Jonathan Hughes and Dave Jones (creator of Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings). Having led the creation and vision of award-winning, multi-million selling entertainment franchises and a groundbreaking VC-backed digital twin earth game project (an early metaverse), their goal was to bring the transformative potential of videogame technology to the wider industry and entertainment markets.
Since then, Spatial Flow has developed innovative technology for some of the largest and most prestigious names in entertainment and industry, including Microsoft and McLaren.
In 2017, Spatial Flow became a JV (joint venture) with Epic Games, the makers of Unreal Engine and Fortnite, and in 2019 we made the leap to become a venture studio, focusing purely on developing our own IP and establishing a venture portfolio.
Philosophy
We're committed to building scalable stakeholder companies with deep technology, incredible teams, and bright futures. Through our internal investment process, domain knowledge, and industry network, we research and identify problems in growth markets and develop innovative solutions.
Because we invest from the first spark of an idea to the execution and spin out of a scalable company, we purely focus on developing internally generated concepts, unlike an accelerator. We work with selected corporate investors to take the portfolio companies to the next level.
